I want to write a little about my experience with Google Adsense. For who does not know, Google Adsense is the ad network of Google and perhaps one of the most accessible and popular of the Web. I started to use Adsense in my blog soon at the beginning, and sincerely the results to me were a little disappointing. But also after see some depoiments and Adsense’s Revenues of some of the more famous bloggers, I understood that is not so easy.

I think to make money with your blog, you have to have a mix of offers, has to have adsense, but also take part in several affiliate programs that enable better earnings. In my opinion, if you have a success site, probably your are going to make much more money with affiliate marketing than with Adsense.

But coming back to Adsense, at the beginning I only had adsense, in the blog top and in the side bar. Did not practically receive clicks and did not manage to go out from U$5,00 of revenue. Actually the situation was the following, I am going to divide in the first month and after the second month.

In my first month of Google Adsense, I only used adsenses, at the top and in the side bar of my blog and the result was the following:

The total of 51 clicks in 14.799 impressions, a Page CTR (Click Through Rate) of 0,34% and I made the total amount of 4,33 dollars.
Actually that jeopardizes me is the low CTR, the ideal is that it was larger than 3%, but I think that was due to a mistake of mine, that as I was testing hard my page, I generated lots of accesses and many impressions that contributed to reduce the CTR. Actually was my inexperience that did me stay with a very low CTR.

Probably if I did not have accessed so much my own site, I would have make much more money.

In the second month, I already had realized the problem and the earnings increased a little, not as much as I would like, but the number of impressions was reduced and almost arrived at a value of 1% of CTR:

So, you can see that the number of clicks was a little smaller, the number of impressions was VERY smaller and that generated to me 7,88 dollars of revenue.

Other important and fundamental change that I did in the middle of July and that really made the difference in clicks quantity I received, it was to put Adsense inside the posts. I am sure that learnt the lesson, in August my result will be better, but I still will have to run behind the low CTR and try to increase it.
