Founded on the 27 ^th of April, 1943 by a group of animal lovers from several social classes SUIPA(International Union Society of Animal Protection) is a non-profit, non-kill private organization. They do not comply with euthanasia on animals collected by the Zoonosis Control Center, a public department subsidiary to the Brazilian city halls. Neither do they comply with “putting to sleep” methods with the purpose of population control in shelters all over the world.

SUIPA is over 60 years old and is kept by the contributions from their members and animal lovers. Their purpose is to improve the present situation of negligence and abandonment regarding animals in general and also to make people more conscious that non-human animals deserve respect, care and protection.
